 Hmm, a 2013 MacBook Air is 4 processor generations newer than Nehalem, so
 surely it should have all the SIMD features that Nehalem did.

 Well it could be like I said, that rebuilding from source (regardless what
 variants you choose) fixes the problem by ensuring that only the SIMD
 capabilities of your processor are used.
