First of all, fresh install on MacOS X 10.14 and some ports installed with
success...\\
But :

/opt/local/bin/mpicc-openmpi-gcc8 (likewise mpicxx, ...)
To make openmpi-gcc8's wrappers the default (what you get when
you execute 'mpicc' etc.) please run:
sudo port select --set mpi openmpi-gcc8-fortran
