 The versioning strategy you've chosen for kremlin-devel isn't correct in
 the general case: it doesn't guarantee that the version increases.

 For example in [417ad9953b342643698963a368ddc4b54195a1a9/macports-ports]
 you updated kremlin-devel from:

  version 20200804-ab5b69d revision 0

 to:

  version 20200804-35f74d0 revision 1

 This just happened to work because the MacPorts `vercmp` procedure sorts
 ab5b69d as being less than 35f74d0 but you can see how it could have gone
 the other way if the commit hashes had been different.
