 emacs @27.1 fails to build (on macOS 10.13.6, but it's probably not OS
 version specific) with the universal variant:

 Undefined symbols for architecture i386:

       _main in make-fingerprint-e5d314.o
 ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture i386
 }}}

 emacs @26.3 and previous versions built fine with the universal variant.
