 It is very hard to decipher exactly what all the {{{python}}} code in
 {{{mpv}}} is [https://github.com/macports/macports-
 ports/blob/88ad4d88076f76bff2c1f791c2d688ded81abd8b/multimedia/mpv/Portfile#L296
 attempting to accomplish], but to solve your immediate problem, install
 {{{python-2.7}}} and try your build again and you should be good to go.
