 Yep.

 It seems likely that was your issue all along.

 dosbox is i386 only, but most ports on 10.7 are x86_64, and so all
 dosbox's supporting ports need to be universal, not just i386, for the
 system to work properly.

 Normally MacPorts will take care of all that for you, I'm not clear on why
 you are having to intervene to make it happen in this case.

 All of this headache is part of the reason why I brought in dosbox-x,
 which is x86_64.
