 I think I've found the problem: the first line for the mirrors was for a
 local copy of MacPorts (used when I was making some patches), which I've
 removed. Strange that MacPorts didn't simply skip that and get on with
 `rsync://rsync.macports.org/release/tarballs/ports.tar` but I guess it's
 my fault and not a bug. Sorry for the noise.
