 here is the MacPorts guide for installation
 <https://guide.macports.org/chunked/installing.html> wherein installing
 both Xcode and the command line tools is specified.

 There was an "attempt" to see if we might just get away with the command
 line tools only for certain situations, and a few people did quite a bit
 of work on that; in the end, I believe it was considered to be basically a
 failure, and although a subset of ports do install with just the CLTs,
 there were too many issues with ports that wouldn't build due to lack of
 Xcode, and that push seems to have died out as of late, largerly.

 Once you confirm that this fixes your 10.7.5 builds, I think we can close
 this ticket. Please report back if so.
