 Commenting for the benefit of others new to MacPorts & Apple Silicon
 looking for a temporary workaround -

 I was trying to install nodejs14 and got this icu error. I reinstalled the
 Rosetta version with the following commands:

 sudo port clean icu
 sudo port clean nodejs14
 sudo arch -arch x86_64 port install nodejs14
 }}}
