Well maybe I'm not. I can't find any libsdl support in the cmake build
system, and we do currently offer a libsdl variant in the port. There's a
libdevil bug port from 10 years ago saying the cmake build system is no
 longer supported.

What started me down the cmake road was that I spent several hours bashing
my head against resil's autotools build system before discovering that
they had a cmake build system that worked fine—well, it configured fine
and then failed to build. When I then gave up on resil entirely, I assumed
I would be saving myself time by switching libdevil from autotools to
cmake as well, but I think I was in error.
