New description:

 During a normal "selfupdate" and "upgrade outdated" cycle, I encountered
 the following error:

 {{{
 Error: Can't install oniguruma6 because conflicting ports are active:
 oniguruma5
 Error: Problem while installing oniguruma6
 Error: Follow https://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets to report a bug.
 }}}

 The 'jq' port is the sole user of 'oniguruma5'
 My only recourse was to explicitly uninstall both then reinstall 'jq'.

 I think it's worth noting that this error caused the entire "upgrade
 outdated" process to abort.
