one probably could with enough motivation and time, but I'm not
volunteering ;) Python 2.7 is already EOL and Python 3.5 will follow in a
few months... so perhaps it's not worth the trouble anymore considering
this only happens on an old system (macOS 10.12) and for the older PY
versions?
