 added a new native variant] but kept the existing perf variant so now
 there are two variants that do the same thing which isn't what we want.
 [https://github.com/macports/macports-ports/pull/7574 I've submitted a PR]
 to help get things migrated over to only using a native variant. The
 migration code can be removed after a year.
