 Still have the problem where there is no Edit>Settings menu (or Settings
 anywhere else). Without this, I can't configure the external utilities to
 use to edit or view files or to handle diffs.

 I'm leaving an updated patch (using Cmake 1.1 portgroup) but otherwise
 abandoning work on this.
