 Thank you Ryan, it worked! I do not know why the very same command
 line:sudo port clean ossp-uuid did not work for me before, but now it did
 and I got xmgrace.
 I am really thankful for your quick response, and I am happy to be able to
 continue using macports, which has always been so smooth for me. Have a
