I cleaned and tried installing again:

I don't have wget but I did try using curl like this: sudo curl
http://opensource.apple.com/tarballs/cctools/cctools-895.tar.gz --output
cctools-895.tar.gz
The result is a message stating the file has moved.
When I tried pasting the URL in my browser it worked.
Moving the files into the strip7 folder and trying to install strip7 again
worked :)
My theory is this is some kind of certificate/openssl issue.
