 I don't think we need such a patch. If you think the wording of the
 configure message should be changed, send the patch to the developers.

 Is that the complete main.log? I don't see an error in it or any
 indication of why the build failed.

 Please `sudo port selfupdate` and try with the latest versions. We're up
 to ghostscript 9.53.3 and jbig2dec 0.19 now.
