 The first time you sync after switching to a git clone, portindex has to
 process the whole tree, which will take a while. Subsequent runs will be a
 lot lot faster, as then only updates need processing.

 b.t.w. to see more of what is happening, run

 {{{
 sudo port -d sync
 }}}

 thats what I tend to use...
