 I have four machines running Tiger PPC, and I just install Octave 5.2 on
 one of them -- that is pretty new software for Tiger :>

 Short story -- there are lots of people around here in the same boat, and
 MacPorts is the place to be for this kind of support.

 sbcl will get fixed, but you can be too impatient.
