 Ok, I think I may have narrowed things down somewhat. It seems installing
 `llvm-9.0` tries to bring in universal variants of its dependencies, while
 manually installing each of its dependencies gets a non-universal variant.
 So I guess this means the problem originates in `llvm-9.0`?
