 This is just as reference if somebody else is running into the same
 problem. I have already reported it upstream, see
 https://github.com/WayneD/rsync/issues/107

 Maybe there is a "hotfix" possible out of MacPorts build to temporary
 revert the feature to hard-link of symbolic links.
