 `FF_stream_read()`, `FF_stream_close()`, etc. are all functions defined
 (without prior declaration but before any subsequent usage) in the same
 file, base/fapi_ft.c. There are errors defining them, so clang doesn't
 recognize `FF_stream_read`, `FF_stream_close`, etc. when it proceeds
 anyway.
