 I do see that "nm" warning too -- I didn't dig into it yet. I don't think
 that's a ninja issue. Will have to see.

 I have a fix for the "Power Macintosh" issue that fixes the machine
 recognition, that was accepted upstream today, so I can patch that too.

 I have not seen that "timestamps before 1980" error. Give me an idea where
 you saw that one? There is some meson ticket in MacPorts about old
 timestamps.... I guess that is not really a meson issue?

 on my Tiger systems, meson uses python38, and doesn't seem to need any
 more packages to function, but I also see that "gcovr" error -- does that
 not happen on newer systems? If not, why not?
