 well the issue that each of these, ghc, stack, and cabal, all require
 bootstrap binaries that the portfiles use to build newer versions.

 And all the bootstrap binaries from upstream crash as they are not built
 with older systems in mind.

 SO the next trick is to see how to use the ones I provided instead of the
 official upstream binaries (on older systems at least), and then the
 portfiles can build newer ones.
