 I see there is active work going on for the gtk3 branch of claws-mail
 <https://git.claws-mail.org/?p=claws.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/gtk3>.

 Not sure if it is buildable yet.

 If you need a newsreader, you can use {{{pan2}}}, FYI.
