 I think it's the same problem so might be better to use this ticket.

 I should point out that in my case (Big Sur 11.5.1 on an M1 Silicon based
 Macbook Pro 13) with macports HEAD, just:

 {{{
 sudo port install m4
 }}}

 .. fails with the socklen_t complaint so I cannot progress to the next
 step.
