 I get this error on Mountain Lion 10.8

 I've checked that ```which curl``` is showing /opt/local/bin/curl.
 I've checked that curl can connect to the site and that the TLS
 certificate is valid.

 It was working as of May 2021, give or take a month. Today I ran port
 upgrade for the first time since May and the update did include curl.

 curl is curl @7.78.0_0+ssl, mpstats is mpstats @0.2.0_0.

 The previous version of mpstats was   mpstats @0.1.8_6. i tried this
 version and got the same error

 I activated the latest version of mpstats and activated the previous
 version of curl @7.77.0_0+ssl. The error persisted.

 I activated openssl @1.1.1i_0 which is the previous version. Same error.

 I tried the previous version of curl-ca-bundle.  Still the same error.
