 I tried to use `GNU Make` instead of Tiger's ancient `make` 3.80 from
 2002, first by adding `MAKE=gmake` when invoking `port` and second by
 adding the line `configure.env-append MAKE=gmake` to `Portfile` which both
 made `configure` report

 but in the end I got:

 so I do not know whether `qpdf` would be built OK. I think, I am going to
 try to build `qpdf` on Leopard.
