New description:

 I am a code developer of PyGraphviz
 (https://github.com/pygraphviz/pygraphviz) and NetworkX
 (https://github.com/networkx/networkx).  Some of our users use macports.
 Unfortunately, the version of Graphviz that you distribute (2.40.1)
 doesn't work well with Pygraphviz b/c of several known bugs.  I believe
 Graphviz 2.40.1 came out in 2016 and they've made a lot of improvements
 since then.

 It would be great if you could update to the current stable release
 (2.48.0):
