 experienced this issue in 2.1.0 as well.

 hoping it isn't just me as Eric Gallager has added himself to the ticket.

 it's a very very strange error. i agree with you it has to be that diff,
 but i'm at a loss as to why.

 it's good to see (maybe not for you, haha ;) ) someone else experiencing
 the issue, which eliminates my telnetd built for linux but using the apple
 source with libsd+libpam
