 Yup, this build system uses a custom Makefile, and the Portfile does not
 use the makefile 1.0 portgroup nor does it manually tell the build system
 to use MacPorts CXXFLAGS. The problem you see is one of the consequences
 of that. I'll see if I can fix it.
