New description:

Since the OpenSSL upgrade libssh2 in macports can no longer successfully
establish a connection. I use midnight-commander in the +sftp variant and
that is broken. I can also reproduce the problem with curl.

    curl sftp://user@some.host/bla

curl: (2) Failure establishing ssh session: -44, Unable to ask for ssh-
 userauth service

 The -44 is defined here:
 https://github.com/libssh2/libssh2/blob/master/include/libssh2.h#L503

Upstream has fixed the problem here:
https://github.com/libssh2/libssh2/issues/463 which is part of the latest
 release 1.10.
