 It doesn't work to just have curl installed.

 You then need to rebuild macports against that newer curl.

 Then the ssl stuff will work.

 But it is fragile to have macports built against it's own installed ports,
 so the other method ({{{/opt/bootstrap}}}) will likely be favoured, until
 a proper fix is accepted at least.
