 when I used the "file" command on {{{/usr/lib/libSystem.dylib}}} while in
 10.6 PPC, it showed archs of i386, x86_64, and ppc7400 (or perhaps it was
 just ppc), but no ppc64.

 Is the version of 10.6 PPC you have showing something different?
