 That may be, but there's still at least one bug to be resolved here, maybe
 two.

 Seems like on your system (which I see from the log is 10.6 i386) the
 libtool port has decided to bake the clang-3.7 compiler path into itself.
 I can confirm that by looking at the glibtool file in the libtool archive
 for 10.6 i386. It might be a good idea for us to change that to
 /usr/bin/cc, since that's a compiler guaranteed to exist. We've already
 made a similar change to the perl5 ports.

 The second bug is that the gforth build allowed the compiler baked into
 libtool to be used rather than using the compiler MacPorts told it to use,
 which per your log was clang-9.0.
