 With muniversal, zstd @1.5.1_0+universal builds fine for me on Lion, but
 then @1.5.0_0+universal did too, so you'll have to see if this helps your
 PowerPC build. (The problem in your case is gcc-4.2; on Lion I'm of course
 using clang which evidently doesn't have the same restrictions about `-E`,
 `-S`, `-save-temps` and `-M` flags.)
