 I'm sorry for bothering you, but I finally decided to fully remove
 MacPorts and reinstall it from scratch, together with "port installed
 requested" ports. Everything seems to work now. It has been probably the
 effect of an outdated version, that I've been keeping since months,
 because the latest upgrade on M1 completely broke Macports on M1 chip, and
 so I decided to keep the first working configuration I had reached.
