 This in fact does remain in the current glib2 2.67.3, which I am just
 working on now.

 I will upstream it, as it does look totally upstreamable.

 We have a lot of modifications in our glib2 port... I am just now trying
 to see if we're still doing the right thing with the universal.patch part
 of it.
