Comment (by fhgwright):

 I can now confirm that it fails on 10.14 and 10.15, though I was able to
 work around it by rolling back `gdk-pixbuf2` to `2.40.0_1` and `atk` to
 `2.36.0_0` (which was possible since I still had the old installs).  It
 looks like `atk` was just updated recently.  I haven't retested earlier OS
 versions since the `atk` update.
