Comment:

 The log shows undefined pam symbols.

 This project uses a custom build system that includes a script called
 vsf_findlibs.sh that is supposed to determine what libraries to link with.
 It determines this based on what files are present in the file system. On
 Big Sur and later, system libraries are no longer present in the file
 system (they are only present in the library cache), so it fails to find
 the library to link with. The vsf_findlibs.sh script might have to be
 enhanced to understand how to search for libraries in the cache, or we
 might have to hardcode the list of libraries it should link with for
 macOS.
