 Thomas, thank you for taking the time to provide all of this detail!

 While my Fortran skills are a bit rusty, this will be a great opportunity
 to dust off the cobwebs. I'll try my best to take a look at this today, if
 possible.

 I'll provide a follow-up, once I've done more investigation.
