 I managed to fix this by setting the locale to ENG-US in Mac preference,
 reboot\\
 then set to my originals settings ENG-NL en reboot.\\

 GNU Radio Companion 3.7.14.0 is now starting up and present the normal
 GUI.\\

 Will try this tomorrow on my MacBookPro and Mojave see if will get this
 running to.\\
