 I knew I had seen and/or worked around this API change before. It's so
 straightforward that you could probably map the old symbols via CPP
 macros. Or, with luck, the change was done in a single commit and little
 enough changed afterwards that the corresponding diff can still be
 reversed.

 What's the user-facing effect of dropping CA support?
