#63309: Dependency libidn could be replaced by libidn2
--------------------+------------------------------

Priority: Normal | Milestone: MacPorts Future
Component: ports | Version: 2.7.1
 Keywords: | Port: ghostscript, git
--------------------+------------------------------
Ghostscript is installed as a dependency of ImageMagick, and p5.28-net-
libidn as a (sub-sub) dependency of git. Both of those have libidn as a
dependency. When doing an update, libidn came with this note: "Please be
aware that GNU libidn2 is the successor of GNU libidn. It comes with IDNA
2008 and TR46 implementations and also provides a compatibility layer for
GNU libidn." Indeed, libidn has no maintainer but libidn2 does and it is
 also available in the repo.

I don't know how this works, but my guess is that it would be good to
update Ghostscript's and git's dependency to include libidn2 instead of
 libidn? Thanks!
