 Just merged [https://github.com/macports/macports-ports/pull/11185 the PR
 #11185] ... lovely piece of work (wishing I'd thought of it myself a long
 time ago!] ... installing Boost169 and Boost176 now & will start testing
 those against the primary ports I maintain: mostly GR and UHD related. I
 strongly doubt I'll have time to catch up with all of the comments in this
 issue ... hopefully anything critical has been incorporated into PRs!
