 It didn't work without python either.
 The installation requirement was a dependency.
 The compiled macport repo package for 10.7.5 was not found and port tried
 to compile automatically from the source.
 The compiled version of hamlib @4.2_0 for 10.7.5 has now been found and is
 successfully installed.
