 Based on your interpretation - correct. Though I still don't quite grasp
 why ASAN and UBSAN are not parts of the analyzer.

 If "analyzer" is "scan-build" only - then you're probably right.

 The URL you kindly provided, says:

 > scan-build: **running** the analyzer from the command line

 It does not imply or explicitly say that "analyzer" is **only** the "scan-
 build" (and "scan-view") part. And while {{{scan-build}}} does not seem to
 work, ASAN and UBSAN (among other sanitizers) work OK.
