 It's not trivial to support numerous target compilers, and universal
 support complicates it further.

 To be fair though, I've also run both openmpi and mpich through my
 patented obfuscation tool. It's affectionately named, "The Ken Cunningham
 Infuriator (tm)." In addition to automated portfile refactoring, it also
 adds those big honking comment blocks which you love. LOL
