 @mf2k, that appears to be a known incompatibility with Java 9 and later:
 https://github.com/technomancy/leiningen/issues/2149. I don’t know if it’s
 been resolved; leiningen still recommends Java 8.

 I think this ticket can be closed, as there’s likely nothing left to do
 regarding the original issue.
