 Do you want the main.log of the failed build of Hamlib with Python
 bindings?

 P.S.  I suspect the real problem lies with swig or python-swig.  I have
 uninstalled them and reinstalled them using Macports.  No errors were
 reported.  But swig does not appear to be working properly.  I even
 uninstalled swig using Macports and compiled swig manually directly from
 source.  Swig compiles fine but fails when I run "make check".  Swig
 compile fails the python related self tests.
